Our Partners

18 years have passed since the foundation of the Ak-Jurok crisis center. During this period, we were able to help more than 19,000 women who sought our help. We would not have done all the work without the help of our partners, who are both government bodies and non-governmental organizations.

The Ak-Jurok crisis center has been fulfilling state orders from the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic since 2014. We have implemented several projects that were financed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development within the following periods: 01.01.2014 – 30.12.2014; 01.05.2015 – 30.03.2016; 01.08.2018 – 30.07.2019; 01.08.2020 – 30.07.2020.

The Osh Regional State Administration has been cooperating with the Ak-Jurok crisis center since 2002. From 2002 to 2010 the regional administration provided an office space for the crisis center, and in 2010 provided a 4-room apartment for the shelter. Every five years we draw up a memorandum, and the current memorandum expires in April 2020.

The city hall of Osh has been working closely with the Ak-Jurok crisis center since 2002. We jointly organize various events, meetings, round tables, seminars, trainings, and informational campaigns. The city hall also helps to place children under the care of the crisis center in schools, boarding schools or kindergartens.

From 01.01.2019 – 31.12.2019 we successfully implemented a project called “A road to life without violence” within the framework of the social order of the city hall of Osh.

The Ak-Jurok crisis center has been working with the Soros Foundation-Kyrgyzstan since 2012. We have implemented several projects with the funding from the Soros Foundation:

1) 01.2012 – 01.2013 – “Provision of legal and psychological assistance to women and children who have suffered from gender-based violence”.

2) 01.07.2013 – 30.06.2014 – “Let the fire of the hearth not go out”.

3) 02.2015 – 02.2016 – “From heart to heart”.

The Center for the Coordination of State-guaranteed Legal Aid provides free legal aid to some women whose cases we have to redirect to them. You can learn more about the center here: http://www.ukuk-jardam.gov.kg/ru/p/about/law.

We have been a member of the Association of Crisis Centers of Kyrgyzstan since 2002. A total of 13 crisis centers are members of the association. As part of our cooperation, we actively exchange information and conduct joint activities. For example, we jointly organize the annual “16 Days against Violence” campaign, which is aimed at increasing public understanding and awareness of all forms of violence. We can learn more about the association’s activities on their website: https://acckg.org/.

The Osh regional branch (kazyiat) of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (muftiyat) has been supporting the crisis center since 2014. We are very grateful to the staff of the regional kazyiat. They do not have the word “no” in their vocabulary. When necessary, the kazyiat provides material assistance to women and children who have suffered from familial violence.
